Salaried employees, both exempt and non-exempt, are paid on the last working day of each month. Changes will be made and announced in advance whenever the College's holidays or closings interfere with the normal payday. The salaried employee payroll work week begins on Monday at 12:01 a.m. and ends on Sunday at 12:00 midnight.
Hourly employees are paid bi-weekly (26 pay periods per year). Payday is normally on every other Friday. An annual Payroll Schedule indicating the date and time payroll cards are due and the date the hourly employees will be paid is circulated to each department at the end of the calendar year. Replacement pads of the yellow hourly employee timesheets may be purchased by the department at the Kenyon College Print Shop . The hourly employee payroll work week begins on Monday at 12:01 a.m. and ends on Sunday at 12:00 midnight.
Student employees are paid on a monthly (bi-weekly during the summer) schedule according to the Student Employment Schedule. Student employees must record hours online via the Web.
Students must also complete an I-9 form for the College on or before their first day of work. Failure to do so is against federal law, and students may not work until this form is completed. In addition, care should be given to monitor students working in multiple departments to avoid overtime pay (working beyond 40 hours in a single week). For overtime purposes, a week will be defined as Monday through Sunday. Please note that international students may work a maximum of 20 hours a week when classes are in schedule and up to 40 hours a week during break periods (e.g., winter, spring and summer breaks).
