Zahida is a proud native of Seattle, Washington. Looking for a little adventure, she moved across the country to attend Ithaca College. There she majored in anthropology and Africana Studies, won Rookie and Player of the Year as a varsity softball pitcher, and was heavily involved with student organizations for women of color and students of color. After college, Zahida received her Master’s Degree in African history with a minor in African American Studies from Northwestern University. Before coming to Kenyon, she worked for a college access program in Madison, Wisconsin.
Prior to her current position, Zahida worked as the director of multicultural admissions at Kenyon College. She now looks forward to advising and supporting underrepresented students—many of whom she helped recruit—in the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
Zahida enjoys international travel, concerts, eating great food, and watching movies.
