Julia Grawemeyer has taught students of French and English Language Learners at Columbus State Community College, Otterbein University, and to students in Corsica. Her areas of interest include idiomatic expressions in other languages, cross-cultural communication problems and solutions, and the dynamics of investigating cultures that make life richer. She is a literary translator from French to English and has published her work in The Kenyon Review and in French presses. Since a very small percentage of books published in the United States appear in translation from other languages, she believes it is important to read translated works of fiction as well as engage in the craft of literary translation.
