John E. Hofferberth joined Kenyon's faculty in 2005. He is a bioorganic chemist whose research interests include the synthesis of natural products, organic methodology and novel approaches to protein engineering. His research efforts focus on preparing natural products that mediate insect associations. Novel methodologies identified in the preparation of such natural products are explored to understand the scope and limitations of their application to the synthesis of structurally related compounds. Hofferberth's teaching interests are focused on courses at the interface of chemistry and biology.
