Welcome to Kenyon's Department of Chemistry. In chemistry, we investigate the molecular world — enzymes, atmospheric gases, semiconductors, catalysts, dyes, neurotransmitters, carbohydrates, drugs, pheromones and polymers. Our tools and methods include chemical synthesis, spectroscopy, computational modeling, and diverse suite of instrumentation.

At Kenyon, Chemistry is at the heart of the molecular sciences, and our department is involved with four interdisciplinary programs: in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, Scientific Computing, and Environmental Studies. We also incorporate biophysical and medicinal chemistry and nanoscience and materials chemistry into our introductory chemistry program.
