Perhaps the greatest advantage of Kenyon's pre-medical program is the Health Professions Advising Committee.
The committee's faculty members, along with the pre-medical advisor, help students prepare their medical school applications and submit a detailed recommendation letter that addresses the student's academic abilities, personal characteristics, and commitment to the health care field. Medical school deans appreciate having one thorough letter that explains and supports a student's abilities.
The committee typically includes a subset of the following faculty members:
Scott Cummings, Professor of Chemistry (chair)
Tomsich Hall 314
Sheryl Hemkin, Associate Professor of Chemistry
Tomsich Hall 106
John Hofferberth, Associate Professor of Chemistry
Harry Itagaki, Professor of Biology
Higley Hall 107
Wade Powell, Professor of Biology
Fischman Wing 202
Maureen Tobin, Director, Graduate School and Preprofessional Advisor
